Description
I know this family that was having a dinner in their back yard and a cockatiel flew into their yard while they ate their meal. This bird story amazed me over the years because the adoptive family had zero use for the bird that flew into their yard that day, and they already had a cat. The parents didn't want bird pooh all over their house, but as it so happens daily across the globe, two species that have zero use for one another, become family and that is a beautiful thing, isn't it? The cockatiel pooped all over everyone and everything, but this tidy family still made a home for the him and named him, Me.

I loved this painting before I read the story, and now I like it even better!

Yes, it's an old painting, but it was delightful to find it, and post again as well as tell the story. Thanks Patricia.

How cute, I adore this story, and I happen to own a cockatiel, her name is Angel, and she can pretty much do what ever she wants. You are right, our dog and cat both got along with her, they her walk all over them. :) It was the cutest sight. She says Peek a boo, and here kitty kitty, and often called to the cat and dog that way when ready to play. :) They are amazing, like your painting of Me! Love the story and the painting!!! L/F
